How did the pandemic rattle developed and under-developed economies? Was policy response to Covid-driven economic crisis right? If yes, then what caused the inequalities to rise record high? It is a modern 8-semester course designed to instill a scientific and open-minded approach in students to tackle real-world issues using qualitative methods, field analysis, and an approach where hypotheses are tested against data.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  PEO-1 To provide cross-functional knowledge, basic concepts, and theories related to Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Management, and Psychology etc.

   PLO-1 Critical Thinking Skills: PEO-4

An ability to optimally apply economic analysis to modern socioeconomic problems i.e. to understand current events and evaluate potential policy proposals. They must be able to evaluate various phenomena and reach to different conclusions.

An ability to use empirical evidnces to assess the validity of an economic argument i.e. the use of data and methodology, and able to interpret empirical results by using appropriate statistical / econometric analysis.

DURATION

  • BS Economics is a four-year degree program comprising of 8 There will be a Fall and a Spring semester each year. The summer semester can also be utilized as a bridging semester to improve the CGPA. The minimum duration to complete the degree program is 04 years, and the maximum limit is 07 years.

PROJECT

  • A student is required to register for the Research Project after the completion of 88 credit hours with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 / 4.0

INTERNSHIP

  • All students ideally undergo 4-8 weeks internship arranged by the placement office. The internship is usually taken after passing 72 Credit Hours. An internship coordinator closely monitors the course. Successful completion of an internship is an essential requirement for graduation.

Computer Systems Engineering is a discipline concerned with the design, analysis and application of computers. This discipline combines both Computer Science and Electronic Engineering and covers all aspects of computer hardware, software and their integration. Computer systems engineers focus on innovation; making computing systems faster and powerful; and solving problems. Computer engineers combine hardware and software to design and implement integrated computer systems for applications in areas such as robotics, artificial intelligence, aerospace and avionics, healthcare, Internet of Things and cloud computing. In today’s world, expertise of both hardware and software need to be combined to develop high-tech solutions in all fields of life. B.E (Computer System Engineering) program is accredited by Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and aligned with Washington Accord.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)

The graduates of the program of Bachelors of Computer Systems Engineering will be equipped with skills to demonstrate an understanding of key technologies applicable within the main areas of Computer Systems Engineering. The main objectives of this program are:

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Higher Secondary School Certificate or A-levels or Equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry securing at least 60% marks in aggregate or IBCC equivalence.
  • Diploma of Associate Engineer Examination in relevant discipline securing at least 70% aggregate marks.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • The admission to the Mohammad Ali Jinnah University is strictly on the basis of merit determined by its own admission test and marks of Matric and Intermediate Examinations.
