COURSE OBJECTIVES

This course examines key business processes in organizations and how information systems support the execution and management of these processes. The course also deals with how to structure and manipulate data that might typically be found in an information system using the database management system, MS Access, and spreadsheet software, MS Excel, to make business decisions.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLO)

CLO: 1. Learning the characteristics of input, output and storage devices will allow students to select the correct equipment for a given application. An increased understanding of computers will help students to see how technology can be used to improve existing business processes and identify potential applications.
CLO: 2. An understanding of the range of software applications available will help students to see potential applications relevant to a given organization or industry
CLO: 3. Learning key aspects of design for an e-business system and also how to create effective information architecture for organization
