COURSE OBJECTIVES
This lab course from pharmaceutical chemistry domain provides a comprehensive overview of the key concepts in organic chemistry. Lab course will comprise on different techniques for the synthesis of pharmaceutically important chemical compounds and their purification. In this lab course students will also learn that how to analyze the chemical reaction during drug synthesis through separational techniques.

CLO: 1. To explain distillation, reflux and recrystallization techniques to synthesize and purify pharmaceutically important organic compounds.
CLO: 2. To perform chemical synthesis of different pharmaceutically important organic compounds
CLO: 3. To analyze the chemical reaction during drug synthesis through separational techniques.
COURSE CONTENTS
- NOTE: Practicals of the subject shall be designed from time to time on the basis of the above-mentioned theoretical topics and availability of the facilities e.g. Organic Preparations_ Benzoic acid, Aspirin, Acetanilide, Iodoform, Nitrophenol, 3-nitrophthalic acid, Benzhydrol and 2,4-Dinitrochlorobenzene_
