COURSE OBJECTIVES
This lab course is mainly aimed to explain and perform the synthesis of organic compounds that are pharmaceutical and medicinally active. The course also includes estimation of different functional groups, like carboxylic, hydroxy, amino and nitro groups using organic techniques. Characterization of synthesized compounds will be performed by determination of Molecular weights, melting points, and thin layer chromatography.
COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLO)
CLO: 1. To Describe the basic principles for the identification of functional groups of organic compounds. (Level: C2)
CLO: 2. To Perform the synthesis of drugs using organic moieties. (Level: P2)
CLO: 3. To Analyze and characterize synthesized organic compounds. (Level: C4)
