Introduction

The 2-year Bachelor in English program is designed to equip students with knowledge and skills to communicate effectively, read critically, and analyze linguistic and literary texts within historical, socio-political, cultural, and philosophical contexts, fostering intellectual depth and aesthetic appreciation. This program is tailored for students with 14 years of education, this flexible program enhances linguistic and pedagogical competence while addressing contemporary job market demands and diverse student interests.

Admission requirements

  • 14 years of education (BA, BSc, B.Com, etc) with at least 40% marks
  • MAJU Admission Test and Previous Academic Performance
  • Interview

Duration

It is a two-year full-time study program spread over four semesters with an addition of a Bridging semester in case of deficiency. Each semester has at least 18 weeks duration for teaching and examinations etc. However, students will be time-barred to complete the degree within 4 years.

Internships

All students ideally undergo an 8-week internship arranged by the placement office. An internship coordinator closely monitors the course. Successful completion of an internship is an essential requirement for graduation.

Degree requirement

To be eligible for the award of a degree, a student is required to earn a prescribed number of credit hours with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00 out of 4.00. Moreover, an internship (minimum 8 weeks) is a mandatory requirement for the degree program.
